ILOILO City – A 77-year-old driver was found dead inside a public utility jeepney at the transport terminal in Barangay Tagbak, Jaro district around 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 18.
Ramon Monte was a resident of Barangay Amamaros, Pototan, Iloilo.
According to colleagues, Monte was driving a Jaro Liko-Tagbak jeepney and regularly slept at the terminal at night.
“Mga pasado alas sais gin pukaw namon ini siya. Kibut na lang kami nga daw ka tig-a haw. Wala na gali sing kabuhi,” said Rafael Villaola, a jeepney driver.
The Jaro police believed Monte likely died late night of Aug. 17.
Relatives said Monte had long been suffering from a heart ailment.
According to Villaola, Monte was not feeling well on Aug. 17; he accidentally slipped in the comfort room of the terminal./PN
