774 Antiqueño farmers get vegetable seed packs

ANTIQUE – Seven hundred seventy-four Antiqueño farmers affected by Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” last October 2022 received assorted vegetable seed packs from the Department of Agriculture (DA).

The Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) distributed the seed packs to the municipal agriculturist offices (MAOs) of San Remigio, Patnongon, Tobias Fornier, Anini-y, Laua-an, San Jose de Buenavista, and Bugasong.

Each pack contained tomato, eggplant, string beans, ampalaya, squash, okra, hot pepper, pechay, and bell pepper seeds.

Farmer-beneficiaries were identified through the master list compiled by the MAOs.

The towns of Tibiao, Barbaza, Pandan, Belison, Sibalom, Sebaste, and Valderrama will also be receiving vegetable seed packs.

The vegetable seed packs were turned over by the DA on Nov. 8, 2022 when President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited the province. (With a report from PIO LAVEGA/Province of Antique)/PN
