ILOILO City – Seventy-nine local government units (LGUs) in Western Visayas have successfully passed the 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) conducted by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

This marks an increase from the previous assessment period, where only 66 cities and municipalities in the region met the standards.

The 2024 CFLGA evaluated the 2022 performance of LGUs, using an annual assessment tool designed to measure the effectiveness of child-focused policies and programs. It covers five key areas of child welfare, aiming to ensure the rights, protection, and holistic development of children in local communities.

Results from the CFLGA also feed into broader initiatives, such as the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) and the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Cities and Municipalities (PACFMC).

The following LGUs earned the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) in 2024:

* in Aklan – Balete, Banga, Batan, Burunga, Ibajay, Kalibo, Lezo, Madalag, Malay, New Washington, Tangalan
