ILOILO City – Eight persons were arrested yesterday in Barangay Natividad, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo for allegedly stealing electrical wires.
They were Joel Fernandez, 27; Edgar Bañas, 21; Aljohn Azucena, 25; Loreto Azucen, 28; Jerlu Caseño, 20; Elias Lanzarote Jr., 42; Ronelo Gabales, 22; and Alvin Caseño, 27.
A security guard chanced upon them cutting the wires around 4 a.m.
The suspects were detained at the Barotac Viejo police station.
They would be charged with violation of Republic Act 7832 that penalizes the pilferage of electricity and theft of electric power transmission lines or materials./PN
