BACOLOD City – Eight participants are competing in the “Sadya ang MassKara with Mayor Bing: 1st Mayor Evelio Leonardia Fireworks Display Competition.”
The competition will be at 10 o’clock every night from Oct. 19 to 23 at the three festival sites, the Silver MassKara Festival Organization said.
This year’s festival sites are the New Government Center (NGC), the public plaza and the Tourism Strip on Lacson Street.
The participants are Al Aquino of Cabuyao, Laguna; Bathans Fireworks of Lemery, Batangas; E&B Fireworks of Pandi, Bulacan; Pyro Kreation of Sta. Maria, Bulacan; Planet DX of Bukidnon; Tower Fireworks of South Cotabato; Peacok Fireworx of Bacolod City; and Pelagio Fireworks of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.
Two participants will perform every night in the first four days.
The competition will be at the NGC on Oct. 19, the public plaza on Oct. 20, and the Tourism Strip on Oct. 21 and 22.
On Oct. 23, there will be a “champion’s showcase” at the NGC.
The top three winners will get P100,000, P50,000 and P30,000 worth of contracts for their last-day showcase.
David Tan, executive director of the Energreen Power Inter-island Corp., has given the organizers P550,000 as support to the competition./PN
