BACOLOD City – Eight houses were razed while three people were injured when fire struck Torres Street, Purok Kapayas, Barangay Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Investigators from the Bureau of Fire Protection have yet to determine the cause but said the blaze originated from the house of Regie Guiza.
The cost of damage was initially pegged at P300,000.
The fire started at around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday. A “fire out” was declared around two hours later.
Aside from Guiza, Barangay Captain Sergio Piansay said, the following also had destroyed houses: “Gamay” Jocson, Eyo Jocson, Vivian Pancho, Jobert Betita, Adelfa Betita, Noel Serva, and Remegio Genesera.
The house of Juanito Tasic was damaged.
Guiza and Pancho were injured. An unidentified firefighter was also wounded after hitting an edge of a galvanized iron sheet./PN
