BACOLOD City β Eight of the 10 employees of the municipal government of Murcia tested positive for drugs following a validation test.
Most of them were found positive for shabu, according to Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano.
Montelibano refused to name the eight employees. All he said was that one of them was female.
All 10 were found positive for drugs in a test conducted among the townβs 268 officials and employees, including Montelibano, on May 29.
Montelibano announced the result in a press conference on June 10.
The result, however, was sent to the laboratory of the Department of Health in Manila for a validation test.
Montelibano said he will push for the dismissal of the employees who tested positive in the validation test.
βI will give them due process,β he assured. βI will immediately convene an investigating board to study and make recommendations on the penalties to be imposed on the said employees.β/PN
