ILOILO City – Eight restobars and night bars in this southern city were shut down for failure to secure necessary business permits to operate.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas issued the closure orders specifically for violating Regulation Ordinance No. 2007-016 or the Local Tax Code of Iloilo City. It was served on Friday night, Aug. 4, by the Iloilo City Compliance Team headed by Nestor Canong.
These establishments namely, 5000 Bar & Lounge, Beer Boss, Red Cups, What’s Up?, Beer Cotto, Pass Out, Hidden Bar, and Alsa Store/Bar are located at Amnesia Bar Compound in Barangay San Rafael and Barangay Taft North, Mandurriao district.
Canong urged the owners of the aforementioned restobars and night bars to process their business permits through the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) next week.
“Ginpangabay ta ang mga tag-iya sang sini nga mga bars kag restobars nga magkadto sa opisina sang BPLO sa Lunes nga adlaw masunod nga semana para mabuligan sila himos sang mga kulang kag mga kinahanglanon nga papeles kag mabayaran ang nagakaigu nga buwis agud mahatagan sila sang business permits,” Canong said.
As to the compliance of bars, restobars, KTV bars, nightclubs, and the likes to the executive order of the city mayor on selling and consumption of liquor, the Compliance Team head said establishments are generally compliant.
This is based on the monitoring they conducted together with the Mandurriao police over the weekend in Smallville Complex, Gaisano Times Square, Paseo de Arcangheles, Emperador Compound at Festive Walk, and surrounding areas of barangays San Rafael, Bolilao and Taft North in Mandurriao./PN
