80.25% of the target population in Guimaras is fully vaccinated

JORDAN, Guimaras – The 80.25 percent of the 130,908 or 70 percent target population in Guimaras are fully vaccinated as of January 23.

Based on the data of the Department of Health (DOH)-6 out of 130,908 target population in Guimaras, 105,054 or 80.25 percent are fully vaccinated.

Here is the breakdown per category of 105,054 fully vaccinated individuals.

* Healthcare workers (A1) – 6,525

* Senior citizens (A2) – 13,545

* Persons with comorbidity (A3) -15,043

* Economic frontliners (A4) -26,558

* Indigent (A5) – 16,874

* Rest of adult population -9,987

As of January 23, the province of Guimaras receives a total of 337,094 doses of vaccines.

Here is breakdown of 337,094 doses of vaccines:

* Sinovac – 112,074 doses

* AstraZeneca – 73,084 doses

* Pfizer – 96,276 doses

* Janssen – 15,000 doses

* Moderna – 40,660 doses

Vice Governor John Edward Gando, continues to encourage Guimarasnon to get vaccinated to increase their protection against COVID-19, also to prevent the increase of positive cases in the province.

For him being vaccinated is effective as a preventive measure to stop the spread and minimize the symptoms once infected with COVID-19.

As of January 24, 2022, Guimars recorded 3,318 and confirmed cases, 92 are still active, 3,060 have recovered and 166 have died.

The 92 active cases came from the Municipality of Buenavista, 15 San Lorenzo, 22 Jordan, 12 Nueva Valencia, and 7 Sibunag./PN
