MANILA – A large part of the country will likely be placed under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) come July 16, Department of National Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said.
Lorenzana said in a television interview yesterday that the easing of quarantine measures will rely on the data of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the country.
Lorenzana also said that the second phase of the national action plan in the fight against COVID-19 has been crafted after the first phase turned out with positive results.
“So ngayon, medyo nag-plateau na except ‘yung Cebu [City]… Ang ating objective diyan mag-plateau lang, hindi na magdadagdag every day or ‘yung case doubling.”
Based on the latest data from the Department of Health, the Philippines has 38,805 positive COVID-19 cases, with 10,673 recoveries and 1,274 deaths./PN
