89 fugitives arrested in week-long ops

ILOILO City – Different police units under the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) apprehended 89 wanted individuals across the region during a week-long operation from June 1 to 7.

PRO-6 data showed that 70 operations led to the arrest of 17 most wanted persons (MWP) and 72 others tagged as other wanted persons.

Of the MWP, three were classified as the region’s most wanted, four were provincial most wanted, and 10 municipal level most wanted.

Here is the breakdown of MWP arrests per police unit:

* Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) – one

* Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) – seven

* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) – four

* Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – two

* Iloilo City Police Provincial Office (ICPO) – three

The breakdown for other wanted persons:

* Aklan Police Provincial Office (PPO) – five

* Antique PPO – three

* CPPO – two

* Guimaras PPO – one

* IPPO – 20

* NOCPPO – 31

* BCPO – three

* ICPO – five

* Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 6 – two

PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended the police officers behind the accomplishments.

“These numbers display your commitment and sacrifices in locating the whereabouts of these law violators,” said Wanky.

He also challenged the remaining fugitives to surrender: “This is a manifestation that no wanted person can hide for life. Time will come that they will be reached by the long arms of the law.”

The region’s top cop also encouraged the immediate families of the fugitives to convince them to face the consequences of their actions “because the officers of the law are coming to apprehend and will bring them before the court of the law.”

Earlier, Wanky urged all city and provincial directors to account all persons who have pending arrest warrants and know their whereabouts for their possible arrest./PN
