ILOILO City – Nine residents were arrested yesterday in Barangay Malayu-an, Ajuy, IIoilo.
Police said Roy Flores, Joerex Fausto, Ernie Galopo, Johnny Varuela, Jose Fausto, Rey Soberon, Bonie Baclayo, Enrico Sarmiento, and Joan Artocilla engaged in illegal cock derby.
The suspects were caught around 12:30 p.m.
Recovered from them were two game fowls and P1,500 bet money.
The suspects were detained at the Ajuy police station. Charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449 (Cockfighting Law of 1974) would be filed against them./PN
