ILOILO City – Nine sachets of shabu were confiscated from an operator of a videoke bar and a waitress in Barangay Tonogboc, Caluya, Antique.
On Jan. 22, 33-year-old Hazel Samonte, owner of Queenland Binagol videoke bar, and 23-year-old Samantha Joy Celo of Bulacan were taken to the Caluya police station.
Around 9 p.m. an undercover police officer bought from the suspects a sachet of shabu for P500, according to Senior Inspector Frankie Catela, Caluya police chief.
Eight more sachets were found in the suspects’ possession after their arrest.
Catela said Samonte turned herself over to the police last year and confessed to being just an illegal drug user.
Samonte and Celo face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 that outlaws illegal drug possession and the sale of dangerous drugs./PN
