ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6’s (PRO-6) intensified effort against illegal drugs seized around 267 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,815,600 and 2,000 grams of marijuana valued at P240,000 in a day.
From 6 a.m. on October 22 to 5:59 a.m. on October 23, various police units also arrested nine drug suspects – five tagged as high-value individuals and four street-level targets.
Below is the breakdown of contributions per unit:
* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – two arrests and P240,000 marijuana seized
* Bacolod City Police Office – three arrests and P1,360,000 worth of suspected shabu seized
* Iloilo City Police Office – four arrests and P455,600 worth of suspected shabu seized
The Bacolod City Police Office made the biggest single drug haul around 3:01 a.m. on Wednesday in the city’s Barangay Mansilingan. Three suspects yielded approximately 200 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,360,000.
The aforementioned marijuana was recovered by La Carlota City Component Police Station around 11:14 a.m. on Tuesday in Purok 5, Hacienda Hajalin, Barangay Nagasi, La Carlota City. Two suspects were arrested.
PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky extolled the unit commanders and the operatives for the relentless campaign against illegal drugs.
“I urge you to maintain the intensity of our campaign in coordination and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies and the community,” he added.
The suspects are now under police custody. They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
