BACOLOD City – A 9-year-old girl was found dead hogtied with her mouth stuffed with cloth under the sink of a house in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Zone 14-B, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Marchella Sayo – a Grade 4 pupil and resident of Zone 14-B – was initially believed to have been raped but her autopsy results showed no evidence of this.
Sayo was discovered by village chief Darly Abaring around 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
The victim’s family then brought her to the City Health Unit but attending physician Dr. Howell Exmundo pronounced her “dead on arrival.”
As of this writing, there were no updates on what caused Sayo’s death.
But officers from the Talisay City police station already arrested two suspects – the 20-year-old Al Mhar Duron and a 17-year-old boy.
The suspects denied killing Sayo upon their arrest past 12 midnight on Saturday.
Police investigators have yet to establish the motive in the killing. (With a report from Ranie Azue/PN)
