ANTIQUE – Ninety barangays in this province reported clustering of dengue cases.
There is clustering if three or more cases are recorded within four consecutive weeks.
As of July 2, data from the Disease Surveillance and Response Unit of the of the Antique Provincial Health Office (APHO) showed the following barangays with dengue clustering:
* Aniniy – Lisub B (12), Bayo Grande (four), Magdalena (three), Casay (three), Poblacion (three), Butuan (three), Talisayan (four), Sagua (six), and Mabuyong (four)
* Barbaza – Binangbang Centro (three)
* Belison – Poblacion (16)
* Bugasong – Ilaures (four), Igbalangao (five), Centro Pojo (six), Tangudtud South (five), Pangalcagan (three), Centrol Ilaya (eight), Cubay South (three), Centro Ilawod (five), Yapu (four), Zaragosa (17), and Bagtasan (three)
* Hamtic – Ingwan-Batangan (three), Linaban (three), Poblacion 2 (six), Poblacion 1(four), Bia-an (three), Budbudan (seven), Pu-ao (seven), Malandong (six), La Paz (three), Funda (seven), Caridad (five), and Villavert-Jiminez (four)
* Laua-an – Poblacion (Centro)(four)
* Pandan – Santa Ana (four)
* Patnongon – Igbarawan (three), Poblacion (six), Carit-an (four), Mabasa (eight), and Aphagan (four)

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo urged Antiqueños to gid rid of the breeding places of dengue mosquitoes – these are areas with clear, stagnant water.
“Simple man lang ang aton hirimuon – ang pagpanglimpyu basically focusing on potential nga purogadan sang lamok para nga i-destroy sanda. Search and destroy bangod nga amo dya ang mayor nga yabe para mapa-untat ang pagduro sang lamok,” said Naciongayo.
As of July 2, Antique had 1,405 dengue cases with five deaths (cumulative since January 2022) from San Jose (320), Sibalom (260 cases with one death), Hamtic (174 cases with two deaths), Bugasong (137 cases with one death), Anini-y (96), San Remigio (69), Tobias Fornier (58), Patnongon (48 cases with one death), Valderrama (46), Sebaste (45), Belison (41), Barbaza (30), Laua-an (27), Tibiao (25), Pandan (12), Culasi (11), Caluya (five), and Libertad (one)./PN
