920 Bacolod kids get anti-virus shots

BACOLOD City – A total of 920 minors in this city received their first dose of anti-coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) shots on Wednesday.

Three hundred youngsters with comorbidities were inoculated with Pfizer jabs at the Riverside Medical Center (RMC) on top of the 300 more at the SMX Convention Center and 320 at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central (from the general pediatric population), according to Dr. Chris Sorongon, deputy for medical, data analysis and management of the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF).

On Oct. 29, EOC-TF and the COVID Vaccination Council vaccinated 266 children aged 12 to 17 at the RMC.

Minors with comorbidities can still get their jabs at RMC tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sorongon said.

β€œIt’s a very encouraging turnout. This is the result of the hard work of our medical front liners and volunteers,” said Mayor Evelio Leonardia./PN
