93 LSIs from Cebu now in WV

ILOILO City – Ninety-three Western Visayans stranded in Cebu due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic finally returned to Region 6 yesterday morning. A ship transported them.

At Fort San Pedro here, 44 of them disembarked and were fetched by their respective local government units (LGUs) for 14 days of quarantine and coronavirus disease 2019 test.

From this city, the ship proceeded to Bacolod City’s Bredco Port where 49 more locally stranded individuals (LSIs) disembarked.

Here’s the breakdown from the Regional Incident Management Team (RIMT) for LSIs:

* Aklan – four

* Antique – 22

* Capiz – two

* Guimaras – two

* Iloilo – 12 

* Iloilo City – two

* Negros Occidental – one

* Bacolod City – 48

Since April, 33,955 LSIs (as of Aug. 20) have returned to Region 6, data from RIMT showed. They were mostly from Metro Manila, Cebu and Palawan.

Antique had the most number of LSIs at 8,970 followed by Negros Occidental (6,620), Capiz (5,811), Iloilo (4,699), Aklan (4,473), Bacolod City (1,745), Iloilo City (1,130), and Guimaras (507)./PN
