SAN JOSE, Antique – Athletic delegations to the 2017 Palarong Pambansa have started arriving, with Regions 5 and 4-B among the first to arrive on Friday.
Antique provincial agriculturist Nicolasito “Nick” Calawag, who is also the chairperson of the Palaro accommodation committee, said Region 5 (Bicol) delegation was billeted at the San Pedro National High School and the Assemblyman Segundo Moscoso Memorial School (San Pedro Elementary School) in Barangay San Pedro.
The Region 4-B (MIMAROPA) delegates were billeted at the Belison National School and Elementary School.
Calawag said the athletic delegation from Region 10 (Northern Mindanao) is arriving today.
The last delegations to arrive on April 19 will be Negros Island Region and Region 4-A (CALABARZON), he said.
There are around 4,000 delegates, chaperones or family members of the athletes who will stay in various hotels or homestay accommodations because they could no longer be accommodated at the school billeting quarters.
“There are 428 hotels and homestays that are already fully booked for the Palaro,” Calawag said. (PNA/PN)
