ILOILO City – The police chiefs of Oton and Guimbal towns in Iloilo province could face administrative charges for their unkempt offices.
No less than the Deputy Regional Director for Operations of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) saw for himself the situation of the two towns’ police stations during an unannounced inspection on Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Christopher Tambungan was dismayed.
“These two police stations were dirty. I could even the smell the bad odor. How could policemen work or even stay long in them,” said Tambungan.
Aside from their peace and order obligations, policemen should also be responsible in keeping their stations clean and orderly, he stressed.
The Oton police station is under Chief Inspector Dennis Pamonag while the Guimbal police station led by Inspector Antonio Monreal. They could be charged for negligence.
They would be summoned and made to explain, said Tambungan.
“I am warning other police stations. Keep your offices clean. How can you be friendly to your communities and serve them well if your police stations are dirty,” said Tambungan./PN
