BACOLOD City – A policeman hit by an Aglipayan priest’s car died while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Senior Police Officer 2 Graciano Lozada Pineda Jr., 56, was a resident of Barangay 3, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental and assigned at the Regional Headquarters Support Group of the Police Regional Office 18 (PRO-18).
He was hit on April 20 in Crossing Pulupandan, Barangay Mabini, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental while driving a motorcycle.
According to Senior Inspector Alfred De Leon, Pulupandan police chief, Pineda died of head and body injuries.
Pineda was on his way home from the PRO-18 when his motorcycle was hit by the Mazda car of Reverend Father Juancho Cabrillos Omaño, 56, of Barangay Tabao, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.
Omaño was on his way to officiate a baptism, said De Leon. He was detained at the Pulupandan police station but was released around 8 a.m. on April 21.
Omaño was assigned at the San Enrique Aglipayan Church./PN
