ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Madong, Janiuay, Iloilo was found with a gunshot wound in the mouth inside his bedroom.
The family of 53-year-old Jorebell Clemente believed he killed himself. Near his body was a homemade .45 pistol.
Investigators learned that the mother did not approve of the woman Clemente was courting, said Chief Inspector Jonnah Galicha, Janiuay police chief.
“Other than that, the family appeared to have no problems,” said Galicha.
Around 8 p.m. on April 21, a burst of gunfire was heard from Clemente’s room. His mother and a helper who were watching television at the sala checked the room and found him on the floor.
Clemente was rushed to the Western Visayas Medical Center where he was declared dead.
“He probably put the gun’s barrel in his mouth then pulled the trigger,” said Galicha./PN
