BACOLOD City – A member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit shot a civilian in Barangay Montilla, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

Benjie Paunillan, 24, of the same village sustained gunshot wounds on the abdomen and buttocks. He was taken to the Isabela District Hospital but later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Police identified the shooter as Johnny Valdez of the same barangay.

Barangay Montilla was celebrating its fiesta when Paunillan and Valdez, both drunk, had an argument around 3 a.m. on April 27.

Valdez, who was assigned at the Philippine Army 12th Infantry Battalion detachment in Barangay Sag-ang, La Castellana, fled and remains at large as of this writing./PN
