BACOLOD City – Outstanding farmers and fisher folks were honored during the Pasidungog sa Panguma, Pangisda kag Pangkasapatan awarding ceremony at the Panaad Stadium.  

The honorees were individuals and associations involved in agricultural productivity. They were recognized for their contributions in realizing the provincial government’s food security goal.

The awardees received cash prizes, trophies and certificates from Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist and the Provincial Veterinary Office.

The individual awardees in the agriculture category were the following:

* Felicisimo Pajanconi (rice farmer)

* Bikee Cabaluna (seed grower for rice)

* Ben Ayco (corn farmer)

* Lee Aplaon (high value crop farmer – vegetable)

* Reneboy Sombria (high value crop farmer – fruits)

* Antonio Jesus Orbina (coconut farmer)

* Roy Rivera (entrepreneur)

* Delia Edianel (single mother practicing agriculture)

* BenjieNaro (person with disability practicing agriculture)

* Rosie Alit (NFUCIP farmer for rice)

* Rosely Basalan (NFUCIP farmer for corn).

The Hinigaran Municipal & Agricultural & Fishery Council was named Outstanding MAFC; Kabankalan Agricultural & Fishery Council – Outstanding Community AFC; Marikudo Ati Community – Outstanding Indigenous Cultural Community; Efren Teodoro Family – Outstanding Farm Family; CASA Agrarian Reform Cooperative – Outstanding Small Farmer Organization; Bagonbon Small Farmers Association – Outstanding Cluster Association with Highest NFUCIP Enrollees; and Gil Montilla SWISA – Outstanding Small Water Irrigation System Association.

In the fisheries category, the awardees were:

* Jorge Elemento (fisherfolk)

* Ramy Entierro (tilapia fish farmer)

* RuelLibo-on Sr. (bangus fish farmer)

* Kalipay Small Fishermen Association (fisherfolk organization)

* Silay City Bantay Dagat (bantay dagat task force – city category), Ilog Bantay Dagat (bantay dagat task force – municipal category), Wilson Alico Family (fisherfolk family), Hinoba-an Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Mgt. Council (FARMC).

For the women and youth category, the awardees were Ricky Dalgontas (young farmer), Josefina Tizo (rural woman), Green Earth 4H Club (young farmer organization), and Hacienda Nasipunan Women’s Association RIC of Brgy. 13 (RIC).

* Atty. Henry Yap (animal tourism advocate)

* Lorie Pinsoy (most innovative animal raiser)

* Elmer Reyes, Jr. (technician in artificial insemination – large animals)

* Albert Javier (technician in artificial insemination – swine)

* Mary Ann Nitor & Family (livestock production)
