ILOILO City – An 18-year-old laborer hacked a village watchman (tanod) in Barangay Ipil, Barbaza, Antique yesterday, police said.
Ricardo Amar, 41, was taken to the Pedro L. Gindap Municipal Hospital in Barbaza for the treatment of hack wounds on the head.
The suspect, John Francis Managuit, used a cane cutter, locally called espading, police said.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. Investigation showed Amar had a misunderstanding with Managuit. Both were drunk, police said.
Managuit was detained at the Barbaza police station./PN
