BACOLOD City – The city government’s garbage collector may also soon operate the sanitary landfill in Barangay Felisa.
The Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) declared on Thursday the IPM Construction and Development Corp. the “lowest calculated bidder” for the maintenance and operation of the sanitary landfill.
BAC chairman Maphilindo Polvora said the IPM was the lone bidder to drop a documentary bid.
BAC members will head to Manila today for the post-qualification stage.
The IPM was currently under a P149-million environmental and sanitary services contract (total cleanup) with city hall from March 1 to Dec. 31.
The approved budget for the contract was P52.5 million. The IPM pitched P52,420,281.06.
Once the sanitary landfill operation and maintenance contract is awarded, the city government will pay the contract P7,488,611.58 every month until the end of the year.
Polvora said the contractor shall operate and maintain the sanitary landfill in compliance with provisions of the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act./PN
