“I stand alone without beliefs

The only truth I know is you”…

IRONICALLY those lines are from a love song composed by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel when they were struggling musicians in England that we know has left the European Union or EU.

Brexit or British Exit is the rally cry of the British who are for England leaving the EU because of policies is seen as interfering with their country’s sovereignty.

The parallel the Philippines has with England and Brexit is that the Philippine government just announced that it will no longer accept any form of aid from the EU due to interfering with the affairs of the Philippines government.

From PhilStar Global:

Philippines ends P13.8-B funding from European Union

Decision made to thwart interference, says Palace

MANILA, Philippines (Update 3, 1:38 p.m.) — The Philippine government has decided to end its funding agreement with the European Union (EU), the EU delegation to the Philippines confirmed Thursday.

EU Ambassador to the Philippines Franz Jessen said in previous reports that the government has informed them that the country will no longer accept new EU grants.

The EU delegation to the Philippines is yet to release an official statement announcing the end of the agreement.”

Meanwhile, Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said to reporters on Thursday “that the Philippines have decided to reject aid coming from the European Union so it would not “interfere” in the country’s affairs.

***

This is to enable them not to interfere with our internal affairs. We’re supposed to be an independent nation.

What does this mean, well basically President Rodrigo Duterte is sending out a strong message to the EU to stop meddling in our affairs as a sovereign nation.

We are not mendicants and we certainly don’t need any aid that gives them the opportunity to interfere with our government.

It also says in a loud voice that Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima stays in jail.

I’m curious about this aid amounting to P13 billion. Where does it go, who has benefited from it?

Did it also go the way of the super typhoon “Yolanda” aid also from EU that to this day has yet to reach the typhoon victims?

There are documented reports and studies that these so-called developmental aids are counterproductive to the development of the beneficiary country; it just fosters corruption and mendicancy.

Just look at Africa, the favorite of the entire so-called aid giver European nations. Do you see any progress at all famine, epidemics and wars seems to be the norm. We have Live Aid, USA for Africa, all sorts of aids but it seems that only the celebrities and politicians have benefited.

I won’t be surprised if former Department of Social Welfare and Development secretary Dinky Soliman’s outrageous hair colors were bought with money from super typhoon “Yolanda” aid that EU donated.

And it’s common knowledge that funds EU donated were diverted and are now used to fuel the anti- Duterte campaign.

All the billions that the EU donated for super typhoon “Yolanda” are still unaccounted for to this day.

When the government announced that it was no longer accepting aid from the EU, did you notice that it was only the usual suspects that whined while the nation felt proud that we have a President that stood up to the “white man”?

Why all the preoccupation to get the good side and approval of the “white man”? This is our country and we run our own affairs. We are not “little brown Americans”, much less your “little brown Europeans”. We are Pacific Islanders and Asians.

I was watching the video of the EU Parliament with some members standing up to speak against the Philippines and President Duterte; there was even some who demanded the release of Leila “frailties of a woman” de Lima. One thing I noticed that most of the speakers were Dutch.

The common thread in all of them was that they claim our government does not respect so-called human rights and that, people, is hypocrisy to the max!

The most appalling racial discrimination government policy in modern times is apartheid which governed South Africa till this “black man” Nelson Mandela stood up against it. Of course, the rest is history and Nelson Mandela became President of South Africa and apartheid was abolished.

I bet my “black balls” you have no idea who invented and made apartheid the rule of South Africa; it was the Dutch colonizers, yes, those champions of human rights from The Hague, Netherlands. The temerity of these Dutch who made abusing the human rights of black Africans a state policy to even comment on human rights in the Philippines.

The EU should just concentrate in stopping child pornography as almost all the pedophiles and child molesters are from the European Union. In the Philippines most of those arrested and deported pedophiles, child molesters and purveyors of child pornography are from the European Union.

At the end of the day no “white man” will rescue us; we stand alone and save ourselves as a united country. So stop dreaming about foie gras, the adobo is much better tasting and less cruel to animals and humans. (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
