ILOILO City – In Barangay Natividad, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo a 35-year-old man was arrested for illegal gambling.
Yesterday around 12:30 p.m. Rex Asan of Barangay Poblacion, Banate Iloilo was detained at the Barotac Viejo police station.
Police confiscated from Asan betting slips, a ballpen, a paper clamp, a carbon paper, and P243.
Asan faces a charge for violation of Republic Act 9286 that outlaws illegal numbers games.
He could suffer “from eight years and one day to 10 years” of imprisonment if found guilty by the court as an illegal gambling collector or agent./PN
