BACOLOD City – A 68-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified suspect on Sunday afternoon at Hacienda Maja Grande, Barangay Robles, La Castellana town. 

Francisco Villanueva Delgado, a resident of Hacienda Lani, Barangay Nato in the town, was found dead around 4:30 p.m. in a sugarcane field. 

Delgado sustained three gunshot wounds on the head from a .45-caliber pistol.

Recovered from the crime scene were three empty shells of the same caliber. 

According to his wife, Rose Delgado Ramirez, the victim was on his way for a medical checkup at Enrico Elumba Medical Clinic when the incident happened. 

The La Castellana police is still investigating the incident to determine the motive of the killing and identify the suspect./PN
