BACOLOD City – The celebration of the San Juan feast on Sunday turned into a tragedy for two families.
In Tayasan, Negros Oriental, Billy Calumba, 61, a resident of Barangay Matu-og in the town, drowned.
Calumba was riding a pump boat when he jumped to the sea.
Police said the victim was drunk during the incident.
Calumba was brought to Tayasan Rural Health Unit but was declared dead on arrival.
In Sagay City, the victim was identified as Ramyl Carvajal, a resident of Barangay Bulanon in the city.
Carvajal was allegedly under the influence of liquor when he swam at a beach resort in the barangay.
He was brought to Lopez District Farmers Hospital in the city but was declared dead on arrival./PN
