ILOILO City – Was it a bomb joke?

Two security guards of a mall on corner Ledesma-Quezon streets complained to the police about two “arrogant” customers.

Jenmar Asumbra, 28, and Ruben Calog, 27, of the New Ginzu said they were just checking the belongings of a couple when the latter snapped at them.

Around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Lyle Van Cyde Maravilla told the security guards, “Sus kung bombahan ta kamo di was-ag gid kamo tanan (If I bomb this place, everything will be destroyed),” a police report showed.

Maravilla, a resident of Lopez Jaena Street, Jaro district, was with his wife at the time, the security guards working under the agency DASI Security Corp. told the police.

Making bomb jokes is punishable under Presidential Decree No. 1727.

The couple cannot be reached for comment as of this writing./PN
