IT LOOKS like Leni Robredo did it again. She just embarrassed the Filipino people and disrespected the Office of the Vice President.
You would have thought after that international faux pas giving the Philippines a bad image with that video she made claiming the streets are littered with thousands of dead bodies as a result of the war against illegal drugs; she would have learned her lesson but, no she did it again.
This time she said that for two days while in Boston she scavenged the garbage bins looking for things that her daughter Aika can use in her apartment. Take note people, Leni Robredo said this over public radio.
In her radio show “Biserbisyong Leni” with Ely Saludar on RMN-DZXL 558 kHz, VP Leni Robredo talked about her trip to Boston. She recounted that they picked some items they used from the garbage left by others.
“Yung mga hindi nabentang mga gamit ng iba ay iniiwan lang sa basurahan at dun kami namumulot,” said the VP.
Sounds harmless, in fact it looks kind of cute. Well that is if you’re Alex Vidal and the rest of the pathetic Filipinos in the United States who sacrificed everything, even sold not only the carabao but their souls for that much coveted “green card.”
But if you are the sitting Vice President of a sovereign nation, it’s a totally different story if you scavenge other people’s garbage bins. It shows disrespect for the Office of the Vice President and the Filipino people and it is done in poor taste.
I did not vote for Leni Robredo and seriously doubt that she won as Vice President in a fair election but for the moment, until the electoral protest is resolved, she is the sitting Vice President.
And I certainly do not want the Vice President scavenging the garbage bins of Boston and stealing other people’s trash.
Well that is if this is true and not another of her “cute” stunts i.e. walking barefoot while the rest of her entourage are wearing proper shoes, and supposedly waiting for the bus to Bicol in an area where buses, let alone provincial buses, never stop to pick up passengers.
I believe without a doubt that this is another of her lame publicity stunts hoping to generate sympathy from the natives, and based on the comments and responses online I can say again without a doubt nobody believed her.
From a June 22 CNN report:
“Vice President Leni Robredo attended a gala event in Los Angeles and took some private time to help her daughter settle into Harvard University.
“Robredo, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, said that after her speaking engagement in Los Angeles during the weekend, she decided to fly to Boston right after to help Aika settle in.
“Her first-born daughter Aika, 29, is enrolled in Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Mid-Career Master in Public Administration program which begins June 26.”
The average tuition for that kind of course in Harvard would be P5 million more or less if the student has some kind of scholarship grant which Aika Robredo has.
The salary of the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines is P353,476 (approximately US$7,080) per month plus P4,241,640 per annum and the net worth of Vice President Leni Robredo’s SALN is P8 million.
Based on those figures Vice President Leni Robredo can very well afford to send her daughter to Harvard with or without a scholarship grant plus buy her things she needs for her apartment without scavenging other people’s garbage bins.
Of course, we all know that Lola Loida Nicholas Lewis supports Leni and her being a loyal member of the cult of “yellow ribbon devotees” is very profitable.
We also know that Leni Robredo can whip up a mean lugaw which when put on sale is very profitable; in fact it is the only lugaw in the world that rakes in profits in terms of millions of pesos.
Compared to Leni Robredo’s lugaw, Mang Inasal is “chicken feed” (pun intended) even with “unli-rice.”
So you see, Leni Robredo by all means is not poor like the homeless in the United States that need to scavenge garbage bins for things they can use.
She has more money many times over than Councilor Joshua Alim who finds it beneath his dignity as an elected official of “I Am Iloilo” to scavenge the garbage bins the last time he was in the United States.
Just imagine one fine day in Boston, the Vice President of the Philippines is busy checking out garbage bins and a State Department official or diplomat assigned to the Philippines sees her.
Let’s put it this way, you’re offended if President Duterte says putang ina yet you’re okay with Vice President Robredo stealing other peoples trash, you’re a bloody hypocrite! (brotherlouie16@gmail.com/PN)
