MANILA – San Miguel Beermen will aim to finish off TNT Katropa in Game 6 of the 2017 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals at 6:30 tonight at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

If ever Beermen succeed, it will be their second championship this season after ruling the Philippine Cup months ago.

The victory will also put them in contention for a “Grand Slam” if they also capture the Governor’s Cup title later this year.

However, despite the 3-2 lead in the series after their 111-102 win over TNT in Game 5, head coach Leo Austria is still wary of the opponent’s response that might extend the best-of-seven series.

“It’s not yet over,” Austria said. “Sixty-six percent siguro ang chance namin at sa kanila, 33 percent. But the next game is a different kind of ball game dahil they keep on adjusting. The good thing is sila lagi ang naga-adjust para sa amin.”

“We have to anticipate whatever kind of adjustments they will make,” added Austria, who has won all of his four PBA Finals appearance as a Beermen mentor. “But if we will have the chance, we will try to end it.”

Arwind Santos, who played the hero’s role on Friday night, said they cannot afford to have the same start as in Game 5, where Beermen fell by as much as 15 points in the first half.

Aside from Game 5, Beermen have also won Games 2 and 3 of the series, 102-88 and 109-97, respectively. Katropa, meanwhile, have ruled Games 1 and 3 (104-102) and (102-97)./PN
