ILOILO City – A murder complaint was filed against a neighbor tagged in the death of a couple in Barangay Cabolo-an Norte, Oton, Iloilo.
Reno Casaria, 34, surrendered to Monsignor Meliton Oso, Jaro Archdiocesan Social Action Center director, some eight hours after Woodrow Bechayda, 49, and wife Jonita, 47, were stabbed to death on Monday.
Casaria was a brother-in-law of Jonita. His wife was Jonita’s younger sister, according to Senior Inspector Rey Pabalan, Oton police chief.
The complaint against Casaria was filed before the Iloilo Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday.
The suspect was detained at the Oton police station. He told Pabalan he was mad at the Bechaydas. They were bullies, he claimed.
“Napuno na siya kuno amo ato nahimo nya,” said Pabalan.
From what the police gathered, Woodrow was first to be stabbed.
“Then the suspect stabbed Jonita, too,” said Pabalan.
Casaria was suffering from a nervous breakdown and this may have been aggravated by the couple’s constant bullying of him, according to the police chief./PN
