BACOLOD City – Araneta and Magsaysay streets will be closed to give way to a flyover construction.
Vehicles will be rerouted, according to Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) head Luisito Acebuche.
The road closure and rerouting will be from Aug. 7 to 21, between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m.
Vehicles from Barangay Singcang-Airport shall detour to Yulo extension, while those from Barangay Sum-ag shall take the road in Barangay Alijis and Purok Hollow Blocks.
From the South to Goldenfield, vehicles must take the way along corner Magsaysay-Lacson streets, while those from Araneta Street going South must take a left turn at the old Pag-IBIG building toward Goldenfield.
Acebuche said the road closure and rerouting will prevent traffic congestion and any untoward incident during the flyover construction.
On July 26, Department of Public Works and Highways project engineer Antonio Yaptangco informed the Sangguniang Panlungsod that steel components for the flyover will be delivered via Araneta.
Yaptangco asked for BTAO’s help in securing the area.
In response, Acebuche said he will deploy 45 traffic enforcers./PN
