FANS are going to see Danielle Theris “Dani” Ravena making her debut as a Lady Eagle when Ateneo stages back-to-back exhibition matches against Perlas-BanKo Lady Spikers in Iloilo and Bacolod cities this month.
Ravena – daughter of former University of Santo Tomas volleyball star Mozzy and younger sister of Gilas Pilipinas mainstay Kiefer – is one of the incoming Lady Eagles rookies in UAAP Season 80.
“Dani (Ravena) will play in the Ateneo-Perlas exhibition game,” match organizer Ruding Villaruz told Panay News. “It’s just fitting that she plays for Lady Eagles for the first time in Iloilo City, the hometown of her father,” former PBA stalwart Bong.
Before moving to Ateneo, Ravena played high school volleyball for Miriam College in the Women’s National Collegiate Athletic Association juniors division.
Also in Lady Eagles are Negrenses Kassandra and Candice Gequillana, Jhoanna Maraguinot, Bea de Leon, Madeleine Madayag, Kat Tolentino, Pauline Gaston, Jennelle Lo, Julianne Samonte, Bettina Abella, Ana Gopico, and Deanna Wong.
Bannering Perlas-BanKo are Sasa Devanadera, Suzanne Roces, Charisse Ancheta, Kara Acevedo, Ella De Jesus, Amanda Villanueva, Mae Tajima, Jem Ferrer, Rapril Aquino, Amy Ahomiro, Karla Bello, Synjin Reyes, Nicole Tiamzon, and Gizelle Tan.
In Iloilo, the exhibition game will be at the University of San Agustin gym on Aug. 20 – it will be part of the city’s 80th Charter Day celebration – while in Bacolod, the match will be at the West Negros University-STI gym on Aug. 21.
Tickets for Iloilo cost P1,000 for courtside, P300 for reserved section and P100 for general admission. Reservations may be made via 09267227021, 09179221136 and 09152398458.
