4 rob cases in 16 days

ILOILO City – Four robbery cases were recorded in the past 16 days, alarming the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).

Three of the robberies happened in Molo district. One was staged in the adjacent Arevalo district.

Senior Superintendent Ruperto Floro, city police director, ordered his men to step up their visibility to deter criminals from striking.

The first case happened on Aug. 4 around 1:40 p.m. Robbers victimized a collector of Globe Telecom in Barangay East Baluarte, Molo.

Anthony Eguia of Igbaras, Iloilo lost P30,000 to three armed, motorcycle-riding men.

One suspect was identified and charged. Molo police chief, Senior Inspector Rio Maymay identified him as Ryan Alolor of Barangay Baluarte, Molo.

A week later, two collectors of a money lending company were robbed in Barangay North Fundidor, Molo.

The 21-year-old Leslie Anguit and Lorilyn Adang of Log Lender Corp. lost P17,000 to three men.

On Aug. 15, 29-year-old Egory Panelo of Mandurriao district and a collector of ITAC lending was robbed in Barangay Villa Carolina, Arevalo.

He lost P10,000 to two men, one of whom was armed with a .38 revolver.

Tuesday afternoon last week, 21-year-old Angelbert Dico of Barangay Eroquita, Misamis Occidental and collector of One A Kenjelo lending was robbed in Barangay San Jose, Molo. He lost P10,000.

Superintendent Gilbert Gorrero, ICPO spokesperson, urged the community to help in the police’s campaign against robberies.

He believes only one group was responsible for the robberies.

“The victims gave the same color – black – of the motorcycle used by the robbers,” Gorero said./PN
