ILOILO City – How would “bookies” stop if, apparently, many people patronize it?
Around P77,080 worth of bets for the illegal numbers game were seized from a suspected bookies collector, a police report showed.
Police Station 1 officers caught the 32-year-old Ira Chris Pabros red-handed on corner Delgado-Infante streets, City Proper.
Aside from the bet money, several cotejos (betting stubs) and ball pens were seized from her.
Pabros, a resident of Zone 6, Barangay Boulevard, Molo district, was detained at Police Station 1 after her arrest around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 6.
She faces charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, as amended by Republic Act 9287, which imposes tougher penalties on illegal gambling./PN
