BACOLOD City – A resident of Barangay Cubay, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental was watching his trees get cut when one of them fell on him and caused his death.
Ricarido Luntao, 72, was unable to avoid the falling tree, a branch of which hit his head, police investigation showed.
Luntao was rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital. The attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the riverbank in Hacienda Parnaso.
Joevil Villanueva, 27, of Hacienda Guadalupe, Barangay Ayungon, La Carlota City was cutting the trees at the time using a chainsaw, police said./PN
