BORACAY – A cruise ship will dock in the island on Aug. 30, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.

Dream Cruises’ first-ever Asian cruise ship, Genting Dream, will first stop in Manila from Guangdong, China and will then sail to the island.

Genting Dream is expected to arrive around 7 a.m. and will leave at 4 p.m. after its eight-hour stay.

The ship carries 3,400 international tourists and 2,000 crew members.

The local government and the DOT will provide them a “fiesta-like reception.”

They can as well enjoy the island’s activities like scuba diving, snorkeling and parasailing, the Tourism department said.

Genting Dream has 35 bars and restaurants, 1,674 cabins in 18 decks and authentic Asian hospitability for regional travellers.

The island is expected to welcome over 10 ships from China, Hongkong and Singapore, DOT said. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
