ILOILO City – Eighteen sachets of suspected shabu were seized during a police operation in Barangay Poblacion, Leganes, Iloilo yesterday.
Suspected drug dealer Evan Guintivano, 29, was arrested.
The fish vendor from Barangay Guinobatan, Leganes sold a plastic pack of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500 around 11:55 a.m., police said.
Seventeen more sachets of the same substance contained in a white envelope were seized from him, said the police.
Guintivano was a newly identified drug personality, according to Senior Inspector Dadje Delima, municipal police chief.
“He had no previous record with the Leganes police,” Delima said in a phone interview, adding that they surveilled the suspect for three weeks.
Police coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 in staging the operation.
Guintivano was detained at the Leganes police station. Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 may be filed against him./PN
