ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has arrested 57 drug personalities and 100 most wanted persons in five months of operations.
The operations were from January 1 to May 9 this year.
The Jaro police station under Chief Insp. Rhea Santos had the most number of arrests made with 13 drug pushers.
The latest “catch,” however, was in Arevalo district.
The 39-year-old Samuelito Talavara of Brgy. Calaparan, Arevalo fell in a buy-bust operation. Cops arrested him around 11:30 p.m. on Friday.
Recovered from Talavara were 15 sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money amounting to P300.
Talavara was considered one of the big-time drug pushing suspects in Arevalo.
All police chiefs are so far working hard to arrest drug dealers in their areas of responsibility, ICPO director, Senior Supt. Ruperto Floro said.
“Despite these accomplishments, I urged my men to double their time. If there are high-value targets in their areas, they have to prioritize them,” he added.
Floro appealed to the public, too, to help the ICPO by giving information about drug pushers in their areas.
On the other hand, the ICPO also arrested 100 most wanted persons from January to April of which five were in the Top 10.
The latest wanted person arrested was a former rebel, Isidro Impig alias Ka Sidro.
He was arrested in Brgy. Bakhaw, Mandurriao district for trespassing and trying to rape a 31-year-old woman.
Impig was responsible for robbing and burning a delivery van of a cigarette company in July 2009 in Brgy. Buga, Igbaras, police said./PN
