BACOLOD City – A man was convicted for violating Republic Act 5339, or the Anti-Carnapping Law of 1972 in Dumaguete City.
Judge Marie Rose Inocando-Paras of the Regional Trial Court Branch 42 sentenced Johnny Cler Capuyan of Barangay Nasig-id, Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental with imprisonment for a minimum of 14 years and eight months and maximum of 17 years and four months on Oct. 12.
Capuyan, a native of Cebu province, was arrested on Aug. 2, 2015 in Barangay Poblacion, Zamboanguita after stealing a motorcycle owned by Roel Delmo.
Capuyan will be detained at the National Bilibid Prison./PN
