BACOLOD City – The Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) set a new deadline for the replacement of new design series (NDS) banknotes.
The new deadline will be on Dec. 29, the same date of deadline for exchanging new generation currency banknotes.
The changing of cutoff date was in response to numerous requests to extend the replacement deadline that the BSP received.
In a statement, the BSP said the replacement transactions of NDS banknotes will be free of charge at its cash departments in Manila and Quezon City, regional offices and branches.
In this capital city, BSP branch along corner Lacson-Luzuriaga streets will accommodate clients who want to have their banknotes exchanged.
Commercial banks in the city, however, will no longer serve banknote replacement transactions.
Moreover, the BSP set a maximum limit of P100,000 in every transaction.
Large amounts may be replaced through a check or direct credit to a bank account, the BSP added. (PIA/PN)
