BACOLOD City – Five drug suspects were arrested while another escaped in a sting operation that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Kabankalan City police conducted in Purok Paraiso, Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.
The Dec. 13 operation netted residents Noel Cuenca, John Mark Salazar, Harvey Ledesma, Melvin Cabatu, and Ruben Villaflor, a PDEA spot report showed.
Jose Hupalan eluded arrest, it further stated.
The suspects were caught while they were having a “pot session,” a PDEA agent said.
Recovered from the suspects were 13 sachets of shabu valued at P150,000.
Cuenca, Salazar, Ledesma, Cabatu, and Villaflor were detained at the Kabankalan City police station lockup facility while Hupalan was still at large as of this writing.
They were all facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
