BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is strictly implementing its Oplan Ligtas Paskuhan 2017 program.
With the start of the Filipino Christmas tradition Simbang Gabi, the BCPO is maximizing its police personnel by deploying them to the streets to ensure security of churchgoers.
The BCPO reminded the public to be wary of criminals this holiday season, especially in areas of conveyance.
Yesterday, officers from Police Station 1 were patrolling at Purok Mambuloc in Barangay 12 around 3:40 a.m. when they caught the 18-year-old Romeo Imperial of Purok Cagaycay, Barangay 2 carrying a .38-caliber revolver loaded with three live bullets.
On Dec. 17, police also caught the 23-year-old Marvin Gustilo of Purok 3, Barangay Magsungay after he pointed an improvised gun at Milky Basinal, also 23 years old, of Barangay Bata in Barangay 11 around 5:30 a.m.
Recovered from Gustilo was the gun loaded with a bullet, police said.
Imperial and Gustilo were detained at the Police Station 1 lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
