Murcia’s most wanted nabbed

BACOLOD City — Murcia police caught one of the town’s most wanted persons on Wednesday.

Elma Fegidero, 53, of Brgy Salvacion faces two murder charges.

Judge Franklin Demonteverde of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 44 issued an arrest warrant to Fegidero on June 7, 2012.

Another arrest warrant was issued to him on Dec. 4 of last year by Judge Eduardo Sayson of RTC-Branch 54.

Fegidero denied bail and is detained in the Murcia police station jail.

In another story, jail guards at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology were reported for maltreating an inmate on Sept. 5.

The inmate was identified as Alex Peñarroyo.

Janette Gonzaga, Peñarroyo ‘s live-in partner, reported the incident to Sagay police, bu the report was kept from the media.

She said the jail guards called Peñarroyo to come to their office, but they brought him to the guard house instead.

Peñarroyo was mauled and tortured using electricity, Gonzaga said.

Gonzaga refused to name the jail guards but said she is going to file charges against them./PN
