Videogame rival kills high school student

BACOLOD City — A third year high school died after his videogame opponent mauled and stabbed him in Baranggay Matab-ang, Talisay City, police said.

John Kurt Flores, 15, of Abakasa National High School in Barangay Mandalagan died of septic shock, a lethal drop in blood pressure due to infection, police records showed.

Flores was beaten by his video gaming rival in a comfort room after teasing after teasing the latter, said the victim’s classmate Michael Caporas.

Talisay is a 15-minute jeepney ride away from Barangay Mandalagan.

Inspector Vermon John Llovido, Talisay City deputy police chief, said they have not yet identified the suspect.

Flores’ grandfather, Kenneth Inventor, the victim’s grandfather, said his grandson was anxious when he went home on Sept. 4. He thought Flores only had a fever.

Inventor later discovered bruises and wounds all over his grandson’s body an had vomited blood.

Flores was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. He died on Sept. 6.
