KALIBO, Aklan ā A Filipino-German candidate of the Kalibo Ati-Atihan Festival King 2018 took home the crown and the title.
He was the 21-year-old Marc Philip Niemeyer of Barangay Laguinbanua East, Numancia, Aklan.
Niemeyer was born to a German father and a Filipino mother. He was raised in Lengerich, Germany.
The Garcia College of Technology student bested 15 other festival king candidates during the pageantās coronation night at Magsaysay Park on Monday.
The 24-year-old Jann Vincent Regalado of Barangay Bubog, Numancia won first runner-up. He got the minor award Best in Swimwear and corporate awards Mr. Cocc-Cola and Mr. Novelino.
Barangay Poblacion, Ibajay, Aklan resident Odelon Bartolo I, 20, won as second runner-up.
The 19-year-old Paolo Benedict Ibuyan of Kalibo, Aklan, on the other hand, placed third runner-up. He also got the Best in Formal Wear, Mr. Peopleās Choice and Mr. Philippine Airlines awards.
John Rafael Villar of Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan won as fourth runner-up.
Other minor award winners include Frank Jared Rafailes (Mr. Photogenic and Mr. Kasafi Runway), Alvin Delos Santos (Best in Production Number), and Ronald No (Best in Talent).
Stewart Kenneth Magbanua got the corporate award Mr. Casino Active.
The other candidates were Jasper Sy, Charles Manuel Laserna, Icidor Kobe So, Marc Sebastian Hauer, Stewart Kenneth Magbanua, Erol Pestano, and Earl Jaztin Beboso.
The candidates initially competed in three pageant portions: production number, swimwear and formal wear. They were then trimmed down to the top five.
Celebrity Xander Ford, Kalibo Dance Ensemble and Ex-Unit Dance Crew performed during the two-hour pageant, which the Kalibo Santo NiƱo Ati-Atihan Foundation, Inc. organized.
