BACOLOD City – Police were still identifying the suspects and the motive in shooting a public school teacher in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.
The teacher was identified as the 37-year-old resident Eric Geronga, a Cadiz City police station report showed.
Based on initial investigation, Geronga left his house in Pueblo Sta. Maria Subdivision in the village around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
He never returned home after, police said.
The 27-year-old Jake Figueroa, also a resident of the village, discovered Geronga’s body the next day at a sugarcane plantation.
Geronga sustained a gunshot wound on the left side of the head, said the investigators./PN
